The NCDOT Statewide Multimodal Freight Plan Update:

In the coming months, NCDOT will begin the update of the 2023 Statewide Multimodal Freight Plan. The purpose of the plan is to set goals and strategies to increase freight access to markets, improve economic competitiveness, increase jobs, and enhance quality of life within the State. In addition, the plan will identify projects eligible for specific freight funding to be considered for the State Transportation Improvement Program. NCDOT wants this plan to be useful to our internal and external partners. As we begin this update, we would appreciate your input. Below is the link to the current plan if you need to skim it.

The NC Freight Flow Tool (linked above) was developed as part of the 2017 Freight Plan. This tool provides insight into multimodal freight flows into, out of, within, and through North Carolina. If you have used the tool previously, how did you use it?

What features would you like as part of the freight flow tool?

The North Carolina Freight Advisory Committee (FAC) is a standing committee whose role is advising on freight-related priorities, issues, projects, and funding needs; acting as a forum for discussion of transportation decisions affecting freight mobility; communicating and coordinating regional priorities with other organizations and promoting sharing of information between sectors. The FAC will also be engaged with the development of the freight plan update. Would you like to be considered as a FAC member? If so, please provide your email below.
