Project Overview

The North Carolina Department of Transportation proposes to make intersection improvements on Old Weaver Trail at Creedmoor Road (N.C. 50) in Wake county. The project is intended to improve safety and address increasing traffic volumes at the intersection.

The project will add a dedicated right-turn lane on eastbound Old Weaver Trail for motorists turning right onto southbound Creedmoor Road (N.C. 50). Motorists turning right from Old Weaver Trail will have their own dedicated lanes, meaning thru-traffic will not be delayed.

The project will not require a detour route, and existing traffic patterns will be maintained throughout the construction period.

Project History

NCDOT assessed traffic conditions and projected future traffic volumes at the intersection and determined that improvements were needed to improve traffic flow and overall safety.

The project design and environmental review began in 2024; the project is scheduled to begin construction in 2025.

RESOURCES FOR PROPERTY OWNERS

Although the N.C. Department of Transportation works to minimize the number of homes and businesses displaced by a road project, it is inevitable, in many cases, that a certain amount of private property is needed.
