Project Overview

N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to construct a roundabout at the intersection of N.C. 43 (Benvenue Road) and the eastbound U.S. 64 Bypass ramps in Nash County.

The purpose of the project is to improve the intersection operations for current and future traffic at the N.C. 43 (Benvenue Road) and the south side of U.S. 64 Bypass ramps.

Project Highlights

Proposed improvements include converting the existing intersection to a roundabout with 5-foot sidewalks along the east and west side of Benvenue Road.

A 10- foot multi-use path will also be constructed along the west side of Stonewall Drive. Traffic will be detoured on-site during the construction period.

Due to Covid 19, NCDOT has suspended in-person meetings.  Information will be provided to the public in a virtual format on this website. The public is encouraged to provide comments or share their thoughts regarding the proposed map below

Project Funding:

This project is listed as Project U-5947 in the N.C. Department of Transportation’s State Transportation Improvement Program  (STIP) and is funded for $ 5.7 million. Cost estimates have been prepared and are shown below.
