W-5703C: U.S. 421 (Carolina Beach Road) Pedestrian Safety - Wilmington
The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to improve pedestrian safety along U.S. 421 (Carolina Beach Road) from N.C. 132 (South College Road) to Willoughby Park Road, a distance of approximately 1-mile in the City of Wilmington.
In recent years, there have been multiple crashes along this section of U.S. 421 involving pedestrians that have resulted in deaths and serious injuries.

RESOURCES FOR PROPERTY OWNERS
Although the N.C. Department of Transportation works to minimize the number of homes and businesses displaced by a road project, it is inevitable, in many cases, that a certain amount of private property is needed.
