Project Overview

The N.C. Department of Transportation is proposing to make minor improvements to the intersection of N.C. 115 (South Main Street) and Hickory Street near Cornelius. The existing 4-way intersection has no left turn lanes or traffic signal. Due to traffic congestion at the intersection NCDOT is proposing to install a traffic signal and turn lanes. The purpose of this project is to alleviate congestion and improve safety in this area of Mecklenburg in County.

RESOURCES FOR PROPERTY OWNERS

Although the N.C. Department of Transportation works to minimize the number of homes and businesses displaced by a road project, it is inevitable, in many cases, that a certain amount of private property is needed.
