U-5746: U.S. 401 at Ten-Ten Road
The N.C. Department of Transportation is proposing to widen U.S. 401 to a six-lane median-divided typical section between W. Allen Street (S.R. 1467) /E. Allen Street (S.R. 2839) and Ten-Ten Road (S.R. 1010). The project is approximately 0.6 miles in length. An additional left turn lane is proposed for northbound and southbound U.S. 401 at Ten-Ten Road as part of this project.
This project is included in the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) as Project Number U-5746.
The purpose of the project is to increase capacity on U.S. 401 within the project limits and to improve the intersection operations of U.S. 401 at Ten-Ten Road.
